Perhaps the lack of space or lack of resources might affect this.

How are the different rates connected to differences in quality of life?

The different rates are connected to differences in quality of life because people are reproducing and passing away for different reasons across the globe. On the left side of the globe people may be having a lot of children because they can afford to and are passing away because they enjoyed their life and didn’t really take care of themselves. On the right it might be because they can’t access contraceptives and can’t afford medication.
