In the end of the chapter Winston and Julia are finally caught by the Thought Police. They are captured in Mr.Charrington's room where they secretly met very often. A telescreen was behind the picture of St.Clement's Church. This was foreseeable, and it was included in the song of the churches: "Here comes the chopper to chop off your head!” This was the last line, which was foresahdowing that the Thought Police would eventually capture them. Another example of foreshadowing is the quote: "The room was a world, a pocket of the past where extinct animals could walk. ” This told us that they were like the dinasaurs, already extinct, and the room was just a moment in the past. The final chapter was foreseeable, it was just a matter time before they would get captured and, maybe, killed.

Winston is in prison. His only hope, as Winston thinks, lies on O'Brien, (the lier and jealous party supporter that betrays him). However, the real question is: what proves that he (O´Brien) is involved with this situation? Furthermore, how could we foresee this would happen? The first clue I found was that O'Brien had a sence of indifference towards Winston's thoughts when they met. He even treated his ideas with irony: ‘What shall it be this time?’ he said, still with the same faint suggestion of irony. ‘To the confusion of the Thought Police? To the death of Big Brother? To humanity? To the future?’ (Page 223). From this quote I understand that O"Brien knew that going against the government was useless and he probably made fun of Winston and his future. Another foreshadow of this situation is found in chapter one, when Winston bought his diary: "if detected it was reasonably certain that it would be punished by death, or at least twenty-five years in a forced-labor camp." This diary foreshadowed the truth that he would be discovered in the furture and would be punished.

There was a telescreen behind a painting. this was forseseeable because in th church's song we hear: "Here comes the chopper to chop off your head!” This was literally what was going to happen, they would be killed if they ever catched them which they did.

Julia and Winston were at Mr. Charrington’s room and they heard a voice that said “You are the dead.” They realized that voice came from a telescreen behind the picture and that they were going to be arrested or killed. The police arrested both of them in the room and took them to prison. I think this act was foreseeable because some day they were going to be arrested because of all the acts they committed. Even O’Brien told them that they would have to stop seeing each other. They both knew that someday they were going to be arrested. “The mystical reverence that he felt for her was somehow mixed up with the aspect of the pale, cloudless sky, stretching away behind the chimney-pots into interminable distance.” This quote shows how Winston felt the moment before he got arrested. Maybe he had a bad feeling about what was going to happen. “And by the way, while we are on the subject, ‘Here comes a candle to light you to bed, here comes a chopper to chop off your head’!” This quote made Winston realized that Mr. Charrington was a “spy” and that he turned on them. Also, the last line of the quote foreshadows that someday the Thought Police was going to capture and maybe killed them.

This was going to happen sooner or later because they didn’t do the things right since the beginning. They put too much trust into people that they hardly even knew. Their strategic also led them to failure. They would do little rebellious things like hold hands in front of everyone, and that was one of the reasons why they failed. They thought that their love could overrule the government, but that didn't happen. They needed to be more careful if they didn't want to get caught. If they wouldn't have talked to strangers so much and trust them, or make stupid relationship decisions maybe the outcome could have been different.

“There it lay, fixed in future times, preceding death as surely as 99 precedes 100.”
(Page 176). Julia and Winston hear a voice that said you are dead, so this is like they saying that they will be arrested or kill I think. So they got arrested, they knew this will happen even O'Brien told them to dont do this because something bad will happen to them. They broke the rules in every possibly way. Even they say that they might get vaporized someday. The thing is that they trusted Mr.Charington. He was a police man after all. ‘I suppose we may as well say good-bye,’ she said. (Page 280). They knew that the end was coming so they decided to say good bye because the might never see each other again. ‘Now they can see us,’ said Julia. (Page 279).
