The Neuschwanstein castle was built for King Ludwig the 2nd of Bavaria after a loss of his power in the Austro-Prussian war as he wanted to get away from public life, though that is only Neuschwanstein and not all castles. A castle was used for protection, like a big bunker hill, or reinforced frontline you need to breach. Castles were important during the Middle Ages, they would have many features like moats, pits, etc for any invaders. Castles had a big impact by changing how big powers like the Vikings acted now with new reinforced structures, it also changed how land would now be portrayed as you would want the high ground for a castle. The first time this disease appeared, it killed around ~25 Million people in its first wave (about 1/3 of Europe’s population at the time). This troubling time period was caused by none other than Fleas. Usually the plague is blamed on rats, and that’s not wrong, but the source that made these rats seem at fault was much smaller (literally) the Black Death was caused by Fleas, they would usually pick  rats as its targets but once they killed the rats with the disease they would pick another mammal, and humans were a pretty big and easy mammal to pray on. The plague would have a massive impact because it knocked out a lot of people and it created plague doctors, which were the doctors who took care of plague patients almost, they wore trench coats with gloves and boots with a beaked mask to put flowers and other scents in to not let bad air in because at the time bad air was what was thought to give the plague, though this heavy gear they wore would actually not let them get the plague as the fleas couldn’t get on their skin so it made them believe even more that it was the bad air.]]> 2024-05-03 14:24:01 UTC https://padlet.com/averyhunt4/wubzi40bbjqbrvbd/wish/2979527546 averyhunt4 https://padlet.com/averyhunt4/wubzi40bbjqbrvbd/wish/2981675211 Feudalism was a governmental system in which political order was under the control of nobles who protected people in return for goods and services. Feudalism had multiple roles, including the King who owned all the land and made the lawns, he gave land called a “fief” to lords and nobles, below the king was the lords and nobles who would supply the king with soldiers and horses for his army they also gave land to professional soldiers, the knights fought for the nobles and kings, the peasants worked the land for the nobles, knights, and of course the king as they offered shelter and protection.
