It’s honestly mind- blowing to think of everything you could possibly learn in a lifetime. I hope as a future teacher that I mold my future students to feel the same passion about learning. I never want them to stop desiring to explore who they are by learning new things or gaining experiences through learning. Growing up, I never had niche for something particular. I always felt that whatever I wanted to do, if I put my mind to it I would excel. That’s how I choose to go through life. Learning about cultures, languages, hobbies, history, food and so many other areas of life provides an excitement and purpose. It gives a person the power of knowledge and wisdom. Learning also teaches an individual discipline, patience, diligence, work ethic, and passion. I believe learning can also be so unique and personal. There aremany different learning styles, techniques and strategies for one to learn a specific subject. The world is a huge place with many different types of people in it. Schooling helps grow the future of our country. Schooling helps to stimulate the curiosity in the young, impressionable minds and equip them with tools to be better human beings. As we are learning through this course that education form the foundation of any society. It’s goals are responsible for the economic, social, and political growth and development of the society we live in. Minority students are constantly walked over, ignored, and pushed out throughout their years in school. That is truly no environment that anyone let alone student can learn best in. Students learn best when they are given opportunities that are equitable, that promote there growth as a person and when it is culturally relevant to them. When the learning environment can provide curriculum and an atmosphere that provides windows and mirrors, students will learn because they can see themselves and feel as sense of belonging in education. Students also learn best when they are given a teacher that cares about there well-being  and each student as an individual person. There are so many injustice that has been happening in the education system for generations. Students, families, and even communities of color have suffered because of the laws and state of the country. Being a teacher-activist requires having the knowledge and awareness about things in the world that affect our students. It requires taking a stance to help solve and address issues. Being a teacher-activist is empowering , uplifting, revolutionary, and much more.
