The conspirators are some of the most ambitious characters in the play. There’s a lot of issues regarding politics and military but there’s a sense of trying to figure out what gives one the right to rule. Ambition is the cause of conspiracy against Caesar. Cassius measures himself against Caesars and sees no reason that he shouldn’t hold the same power as this “self-proclaimed” god. Brutus is ambitious in seeing two different possibilities into the future. He has no true complaints against Caesar but he fears what shall happen if he is crowned Rome’s king. They fear he will become a tyrant. In my book Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty, it deals with family problems. Siblings, ex husbands, divorced parents, and all the drama in between, but one thing throughout the whole story that shows through is ambition. Ambition to make things right and become at peace with yourself. Madeline is new to town and her single mom jane. She has this huge past filled with so much sadness. Eventually three women involved in this meet at crossroads and end up in a shocking place. The ambition through both stories shows that ambition is determination, it can cause you to want to strive to do things in life. Like assassinate Caesar.
