• Establish the stage of the band's career (are they a new band? are they an older band that has made a comeback?)

Setting the scene (one paragraph)

• Discuss any important atmospheric aspects that will add to the narrative of your review
• Consider the size and location
• Discuss the people at the gig (is the band a part of 'scene'?)

The supports (one paragraph)

• If you see the supports, dedicate a short paragraph to them 
• If you miss the supports don't mention this

The main set (two–three paragraphs)

• Structure your review chronologically (beginning of set, middle and ending) OR structure your review around the types of songs featured in the set (slow songs vs fast songs, good songs vs bad songs, new songs vs old songs)
• Mention any funny/interesting moments from the set, including banter or anything interesting that the lead singer does in their performance
• Discuss the audience's reaction – are people dancing, crying or bored?
• Discuss your own reaction to the set
