SUMMARY ; The verses teach us to always speak to our parents with gentleness, even if they are wrong because they deserved to be respected. When advising them, we should do it with love and sincerity, just like Prophet Ibrahim A.S. did. We must stay calm and patient when they are angry, and never be rude towards them. Overall, these verses remind us that showing kindness and good manners to our parents is part of obeying Allah and we must treat with well manners.

The Power of Knowledge

Islam teaches that knowledge is very important. The first verse revealed to Prophet Muhammad was about seeking knowledge. Knowledge is a trust (amanah) from Allah and must be used wisely as we are His vicegerents on earth. Allah encourages us to learn and reminds us that all knowledge comes from and returns to Him, and that He is the ultimate source of all knowledge.

In the past, learning was difficult, especially since the Prophet was unlettered (ummi) and only the higher class could study. Yet, Islam made knowledge accessible and valuable for everyone. The essence of Islam is knowledge. we are encouraged to seek all kinds of knowledge. When we connect what we learn back to Allah, we are rewarded.

The Mother of Hadith

This hadith, known as the Mother of Hadith, tells us about the three main parts of our religion which includes Iman, Islam and Ihsan

Islam is what we do on the outside which are pray 5 times a day, fasting, giving zakat, saying the shahadah, and performing hajj.
Iman comes from the heart. it’s about believing in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, the Day of Judgement and Qada’ and Qadar.
Ihsan means doing our worship sincerely, as if we can see Allah or knowing that He always sees us. It’s about feeling His presence in everything we do.

This hadith also shows how we should behave like being polite, clean, and respectful. When Angel Jibril came to Prophet Muhammad S.A.W. , he dressed neatly, sat properly, and spoke respectfully. Umar (r.a.) noticed that Jibril didn’t look like a traveler, showing that we should always be aware and mindful of people around us.

Belief (Iman) in Islam

In Islam, Iman means having strong faith in the six pillars of belief ; Allah, angels, holy books, prophets, the Day of Judgement, and Qada’ & Qadar.

Belief in Allah
We believe that Allah is One (Al-Ahad), the Most High, and completely different from His creation. He is our purpose and the foundation of life. When we truly believe in Him, we worship only Him and avoid shirk (associating partners with Allah). Without belief, life feels empty and meaningless.

Belief in Angels
Angels are created from light. They don’t eat, drink, or rest, and each has a specific duty. They always obey Allah and never stop worshipping Him. Although other religions have different views of angels, Islam teaches that angels are pure and only do what Allah commands.

Belief in the Holy Books
Muslims believe in all the revealed scriptures, the Taurah, Zabur, Injil, and Quran. The Quraan is the final and unchanged revelation sent to Prophet Muhammad S.A.W through Jibril. It is a guide for all people, and reading it is an act of worship. While earlier books were changed by humans, the Quran is protected by Allah forever.

Belief in Prophets and Messengers
Prophets and messengers were chosen by Allah to deliver His message. All prophets taught people to worship only Allah. Prophet Muhammad S.A.W is the final messenger, and his teachings are our example. He showed kindness, patience, and good manners. On Judgement Day, he will be given the right to intercede for his followers.

Belief in the Day of Judgement
We believe this world will end, and everyone will be resurrected for judgement. Those who did good will be rewarded, while those whose sins are heavier will be punished. Believing in this day makes us more careful with our actions and increases our love and fear of Allah, knowing that we’ll return to Him.

Belief in Qada’ and Qadar (Divine Decree)
Everything happens according to Allah’s perfect plan. Qadar means destiny that Allah has written, while Qada’ is the execution of that plan. Allah already knows everything, past, present, and future and has written it in the Luh Mahfuz. Belief in Qada’ and Qadar gives peace of mind because we know everything happens for a reason. What we can do is keep trying and trust Allah’s plan.

Ihsan means doing good with full awareness that Allah is always watching us. It’s not just about doing good things when people see us, but also when no one is watching because we know Allah always knows.

In Islam, ihsan includes many areas. With parents, we show ihsan by obeying, respecting, and treating them kindly. With others and all creatures, we practice ihsan by speaking nicely, helping people, avoiding harm to animals, and caring for the environment as a trust from Allah.

In worship, ihsan means praying with focus and sincerity, as if we see Allah, and fasting not just by avoiding food but also avoiding sins.

In daily, ihsan means being honest, responsible, and pure-hearted. We should avoid arrogance, jealousy, and showing off. When facing tests from Allah, we respond with patience, remembrance, and trust that Allah will reward us.

In the hereafter, those who practice ihsan will receive the highest reward from Allah. It is the highest level of faith, after being a Muslim and Mukmin, where a person becomes a Muhsin, living with sincerity and constant awareness of Allah’s presence.

In Islam, eschatology is the belief in the end of the world and the Day of Judgement. muslims believe that the world will be destroyed, and everyone will be resurrected for judgement. There are minor and major signs before the Day comes. On that day, people will be judged based on their deeds and those who did good will enter heaven and those who did wrong will face punishment in hell.

In other religions, the concept of the afterlife and final judgement also exists but differs in meaning. For example, christianity believes that jesus will return to judge all people. hinduism and buddhism believe in reincarnation, where the soul is reborn until it reaches spiritual perfection. judaism believes in the coming of the messiah and resurrection of the dead.
