The reason that I chose Van Go to be my service project is that I have always had a passion for art and loved that they were helping people through art and inspiration. I also loved that they originated in Kansas City and try to help in more ways than one. So that is why I decided to choose Van Go.

Background Info About Van Go

Van Go is an art based organization that helps youth ages 14-24 find healing through art and inspiration. They have been active and helping the youth since 1997 and are still going strong. Van go has achieved a lot in the 28 years they have been around, but they still have a positive and Van Go's Executive Director has made it clear that they will never change their inclusive style. Van Go allows any youth to be a part of their art program no matter the background and has stated that even due to the outside view being changed they still will not change anything about their views and continue to be inclusive and help the youth.

Van Go does all of this by offering art programs to the youth as well as other ways they could possibly make an impact. Van Go has many other ways to help the youth such as JAMS. JAMS teaches people ages 14-24 in difficult situations important life and employment skills. They also have a clothing closet to support teens and young adults as well as donating hygiene products that they may need. Their Go Healthy program that helps people live a healthy lifestyle, improve mental health, and prevent drug and alcohol use. Van Go has made a huge impact and is one of my favorite organizations ever.

What Was My Action plan?

For my action plan I chose to do a lemonade stand. I hosted this lemonade stand from 12:30 to 2:30 P.M. I was able to raise a total of 42$.
