In the novel Lord Of The flies, Written by William Golding. The author had placed school boys in an environment, where communication wasn't the key to success. And also leadership was lacking. School boys had been stranded on an island, due to a plane crash caused by fire. The boys had no adults around so they were privileged to do anything they wanted, and with that privilege the school boys must create a society within themselves. They must lead in an orderly ways, and listen to one another. But, this rarely ever occurred now that the boys went their separate ways, and destroyed each other little by little. One of the leaders of the groups was Jack, Jack gave up his life into savagery, and as well did the many school boys that followed, Jacks rivalry. Ralph was the opposite of Jack, he was more tranquil and opposed good leadership. William uses symbolism to illustrate the decline into savagery, and society's rules. Some of the symbolizes Wiliam uses to illustrate this is the conchshell, the fire, and last but not least the beast. He uses such symbolies to illustrate his point on human nature, and as he states in his novel “Mankind's essential illness”.

In the dystopian novel called The Giver written by Lois Lowry. Readers can infer that the central theme of the story is the importance of the individual vs society. The novel is about a 12- year old boy named Jonas who lives in a community that has eradicated all poverty, fear, and any kind of dubiety. However, to maintain this “ perfect world” the inhabitants of Jonas’s community had to sacrifice individual choice and freedom of expression. At the Ceremony of Twelves, Jonas is singled out for the most honored job in the community: Receiver of Recollection. He is to receive special training from an Elder known as the Giver, this individual holds the memories of another time. Where lives were filled with pain and impediment, as well as colors, choices, and true contentment. Through, this he transmits this memories to Jonas and learns the truth behind his community. Now he rejects living in a community that is so perfectly ordered and organized. He perceives the abuses that occur in his controlled community and sees everything that his family, and friends deny. All this is evident through the literary elements of symbolism/The readers can see this through the spurious regulations that the community have to make things better.

The novel Lord Of The Flies written by the author William Golding symbolizes civilization and devolution into savagery and violence puts the relationship between human nature and society. It tells the story of a group of children who are stuck on an unknown island in the pacific with no parents around. They try to find a way to escape the island and spread out to see what they can do. Ralph, Jack, and another boy, Simon, set off on an expedition to explore the island. William uses mostly the third person to explain how the different characters feel once they are stuck on an island and how they will escape it. The novel also portrays the theme that states that It's better to examine our actions before we experience the consequences. The fact that they are stuck on an island is a problem itself but there are other actions that the different characters makes is what creates more consequences. The author uses symbolism to determine the ideas which led to the theme. Two of the main characters, Jack and Ralph give certain strategies on how they can escape the island. However, they don't analyze the different consequences that those strategies can lead to.

The theme of this story is working together could lead to great opportunities and bigger opportunities.”When the city of Ember was just built and not yet inhabited, the chief builder and the assistant builder, both of them weary, sat down to speak of the future”.

In my dystopian novel animal farm written by George Orwell the theme is that if you work hard you will get what you deserve. The literary device that the author uses is conflict and setting. One way he conveys this theme is because the animals are tired of being mistreated. Another reason is with conflict where the animals start a rebellion. The final way is with setting is where they did not want to do what they are supposed to do as animals
