Remote learning in the spring allowed me to have the chance to slow down. I had a hectic Junior year and it was nice to have some time to just breathe. As a result, I was able to find ways to stay physically healthier by catching up on sleep and spend much-needed time with my family. This time also allowed me to have a better perspective on what is most important in life.

Having e-learning made it far harder to find motivation to complete assignments and study, but that offered an opportunity to prepare for college. If I'm not motivated enough to learn a subject at home for two months in high school, I won't have the motivation to succeed in college. I was able to see what I am capable of succeeding studying later on in life. The extra free time has also given me the opportunity to catch up on books, movies, and tv shows I've been wanting to watch/read.

One piece of advice would be to stay in good contact with the students so they have someone to come to when they need help. I also think that the policy for redoes was a nice addition because it makes the students feel more comfortable in the new learning environment. Finally I believe that staying very involved in class and pushing students to be involved too would help the learning process.

While e-learning makes having live classes much more difficult, it does provide some new opportunities. Any assignments that would be completed individually that we won't discuss as a class could (should, in my opinion) be assigned at the end of the zoom call or as homework with the call ending sooner. This would allow students to work on their own pace and provide more flexibility to students, which helps us with our mental health or with prioritization. I think these unprecedented times provide the opportunity for more transparency and greater community input. As some nonessential material is deleted from curriculum, I think teachers can provide the material anyways for students exceptionally interested in the class, giving students the opportunity to spend more time on the subjects that most interest them and less on the rest.

E-learning allows student's to see each other's faces which is essential to each student's well-being. I only hope that school leaders try to find someways to allow for safe, controlled in-person learning at some point this year. Even if this learning is only in small groups, students should have the opportunity to see each other in-person if the situation is safe enough for this to occur. I also hope that teacher's remain flexible with students because the pandemic is affecting students in many different ways. I also think it would be incredibly beneficial if we had video announcements everyday from Dr. K to give a sense of normality. Finally, I just want to commend the school's staff and leaders for allowing us to stay safe and learn at the same time. I look forward to the day when we can all safely see each other again, but until then I believe we are in good hands.

I think Zoom breakout rooms are helpful in being able to converse with other students in a safe environment. Having different mediums of teaching while still maintaining a schedule makes learning more predictable, therefore creating less stress.

I would have asked teachers to ensure that their students are on track and personally reach out to them and talk with them about getting off-track before it's too "late." I would also ask the leaders to have some slack and put ourselves in our shoes, however. It would have been nice for some teachers to know that all students have certain materials or have the resources to do a certain activity. I would also have liked teachers and leaders to devote some time or resources towards Mental Health as many of my classmates informed me of the ongoing stress from eSchool.

Seeing how other students failed to adapt to keep people safe during the pandemic was extremely disheartening. Makes you question people's character entirely.

I feel like if teachers were to treat their zoom calls like any other class, it would help us to get back into school a bit more normally. I know not everyone agrees but having a chance to have normal conversations in zoom breakout rooms has been really nice this year. I think everyone just needs a bit more time and practice with zoom.
