The city's existence has been part of local folklore for centuries, and it is rumored to be an ancient, mysterious civilization filled with white stone structures and untold riches.



Location in La Mosquitia: La Ciudad Blanca is believed to be located in the remote and largely unexplored La Mosquitia region of eastern Honduras, a dense jungle area that has kept the site hidden for centuries.


LIDAR Discovery: In 2015, an archaeological team using LIDAR technology (which maps the ground beneath the jungle canopy) uncovered evidence of ancient structures, including plazas and pyramids, possibly linked to the legend of La Ciudad Blanca.
