         <description><![CDATA[<div>How the building uses the principles of low energy:<br><br>1. The Building is designed in a way that it allows a great source of Natural light and fresh hair to enter and circulate through it. The Building is a 29 story cube with a openings in the center of the roof all the way down through the center of the building and in all 4 sides. In these opening, trees were planted as another source of fresh oxygen and to give a more Eco-friendly, natural feel to the structure. This greatly lowers the amount of energy needed to bring fresh air into the building therefore lowering the amount of fossil fuels being burnt and money being spent.<br><br>2. All four sides of the building is entirely triple glazed windows to allow as much natural light in to brighten up the interior of the building while also trapping/absorbing enough thermal heat to keep the building warm during the day and night. Each side of the building has steel fins in-front of the windows to help lower the amount of glare entering the building. The reason for this is because the building has a orientation of 45 degrees so two sides of the building are facing north.<br><br>3. For nighttime when there is no sunlight, the building uses LED bulbs to supply light, LED bulbs are much more energy efficient compared to standard bulbs and can come in all shapes and sizes so space required is minimal. Also since each side of the building is constructed with glass, it allows light to enter into the building from surrounding buildings at night. This helps lower the amount of energy being used and the amount of money being spent on that energy. Although the building isn't often used at night the LED's and the light from other surrounding buildings help provide enough light. The Building also has a LED linear lighting on the facade of the building to help light up the structure at night. There is also anti glare accessories fitted so there is minimal glare.<br><br>4. Even though the building has fresh air running through it, the inside of the building is equipped with motorized ventilation louvers which are fitted to certain areas that require a set amount of ventilation and fresh air to keep the areas at a comfortable temperature during certain times of the year such as spring and autumn. This helps reduce power that is consumed on air conditioning therefore lowering costs. The louvers on the vents help keep out water and other unwanted elements too.<br><br>5. The building also has mechanical displacement ventilation which can be adjusted based on temperature and air quality. This is useful as the building is a office/labs that thousands of people occupy throughout the day and also where chemicals are often used for production of products. Also the climate in Seoul, south Korea is usually warm so this ventilation helps cool down the air before distributing it within the building.<br><br>7. In the basement of the building there is a central chilled water system fitted which give enough cooling to meet the requirements of the building while also providing fresh cold water to the cold water system of the building and fresh water to ice tanks within the basement of the building.<br><br>8. The building uses panel insulation to help trap heat within the building and to also help keep the building cool too. The panel insulation was picked due to the minimal space it takes up and how easy it is to fit.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Summary of the design:<br><br>The company that was hired to design the Opera House created a 3D model so they could figure out how the Building's design and frame would connect up and work with the Plumbing, electrical work, cladding, drainage, ventilation and heating systems. They then communicated with all the other contractors so they can work together to make sure all the systems and services didn't clash or cause issues.&nbsp;<br><br>The Opera House is just a large dense steel frame structure and the inside of it contains lots of movable elements such as walls, ceilings and floors so the interior can be switched up to suit the event being held. Because of this a lot of planning when into fitting the ventilation, electrical work and plumbing.<br><br>The Glass Facade that runs from the front of the opera house to the sides is specifically designed to keep the inside of the building cool during the hot climate in Dubai. The glass facade helps allow natural light in while keeping sun exposure to the minimum.<br><br>Due to the harsh hot climate in Dubai, The Building has to be highly ventilated and cooled. The Building uses a All-air and all-water FCU system that has a chilled water coil for cooling, it also has central air handling units that provides the entire building with cool, fresh breathable air. The Building also uses Auditorium air handling units that has a dual coil function which provides a constant flow of cleaned air while the opera room is in use. This is important because of the sand and dust in the air in Dubai due to the surrounding desert and the extremely hot climate.&nbsp;<br><br>The Buildings systems such as Security, Lighting, ventilation and water is monitored by the Siemens Desigo CC Building management control platform and the Desigo SCADA Management system. This system is designed to monitor a buildings services and to help lower operational costs and power usage, which also helps produce less emissions.<br><br>The Building does contain bathrooms and kitchens which means there is also fresh cold water supplied to the building through the water mains. The cold water is also used to help keep the building cool E.G. the FCU system and is also used to supply the numerous water fountains outside and within the opera house.<br><br>Since majority of the building is glass, majority of the building uses natural sunlight during the day but the rooms that don't have any windows or access to sunlight have LED bulbs to provide light and the opera room has a combination of stage lights and LED lights. This helps reduce operational costs.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Guoco Tower is the largest skyscraper in Singapore. It is a mixed-use building that mainly contains offices. The owners of the building decided to upgrade their Ventilation following the recommendation given by the government using updated building guidelines.&nbsp;<br><br>There are two air handling units on each floor of the building which help pump and maintain clean, fresh, cool air throughout each floor. They clean outside air and they also recycle the indoor air using ultra violet technology and newer bigger filters that are higher in efficiency.<br><br>The Building contains many different types of ventilation such as :<br><br>1. Heat Recovery wheels<br><br>2. Stand-alone Toilet exhaust fans<br><br>3. G3 and F7 filters for the fan coils on the air handling ventilation units (Updated Fitted after covid-19 hit)&nbsp;<br><br>4. Variable frequency drives which is a motor used in elector-mechanically drive systems to help control and change the AC systems motor speed and power when required.<br><br>5. Water treatment ventilation which get rid of hazardous chemicals and pollutants in the air and helps recycle the air making it clean and fresh.<br><br>6. Air Quality Sensors that scan the air quality within the building and adjusts the ventilation if any impurities are detected in the air.<br><br>All of these features are built into the Guoco Towers ventilation system and fully mitigates covid-19 from the building therefore lowering the covid-19 risk and raising the overall health and safety of the building and the occupants within it.<br><br><br></div>]]></description>
