The key to be a real-life hero is having the attitude of one: humanity and kidness are all key traits to live by. Being a hero in real life also involves taking action, like standing up for others, offering assistance and promoting good causes and principles.

-MY OPINION

The figure of “hero” is reflected as a valourus strong man, and he can be also a helper or a protector, then, in my opinion everybody can be a hero also without having superpowers, in fact, in the history, we saw a lot of people that made revolution without weapons or violence. We can remember: Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Greta Thunberg and others who took the name of “hero”.

Today's heroes, however, are distinguished from mythological ones, placed in a different context and often carry out acts of peace and love, and not of war. In my opinion, real heroes are those people who help us when we need it. For me the term hero does not mean being someone from whom popularity comes, but it means doing something inspired for another, something that comes directly from the bottom of the heart, and which can be achieved by doing good to others.

A hero is a courageous person who risks his own life to save the lives of others and only a hero knows how to perfectly choose how and when to act. But that's not all: sometimes the hero dies, sometimes he survives. We can all be heroes for a day, for an hour or even just for a few minutes. Others become heroes by chance, but at the base there is certainly a character that all heroes have in common, even if they are only heroes for a minute.

A hero is a real or fantastic person who fights adversity with courage, intelligence and physical strenght ,and, in particular, wants to protect the others.

There are two types of heroes:

-Classical heroes, who fought only for their glory and wealth.

-Modern heroes, who fight to help the others without personal interests.

How to become a hero?

To become a hero there are some 'steps':

-Be kind to strangers; the main act of a hero is helping the others, not only people that he knows but also the strangers.

-Put others before yourself; this point connects with the first one, heroes always think that the others are more important than themselves.

-Be ready to act when the others are passive; a hero helps who feels lonely or, for example, is bullied.

-Make heroic actions; perfom random acts of kindness. Be a volunteer or ask if someone needs help.

These are small gestures that can help you feel happier or help the others. We do not have only to mean a hero as someone who has got superpowers (the superheroes that we can find in the fictions), but as someone who loves working for the society.

Everyone has to be or act like a hero to create a better society.

So what exactly defines a hero? Is it their bravery, their selflessness, or a combination of both? Can everyone be a hero?

Let's start by saying that the definition of hero is personal and it depends on the cultural values we have grown with. In some cultures, soldiers or warriors who defend their country may be seen as heroes. In others, artists, scientists or influential leaders may be seen that way.

Morals also builds our perception of hero. Some may value individuals who fight against injustice and work to bring about positive social change, while others may see religious or spiritual figures as heroes who inspire and guide others.

We can assume that the definition of hero is fluid and malleable, so we can build our ideas on the base of any situation we meet.

Despite all of that, it's important to remember that emphasizing the main features of a hero doesn't make the other aspects less important. Indeed, being a hero is not about doing big gestures or sacrifice our life for others, but it's about reading between the lines that the world offers us and being capable of weaving positive thoughts from them. Being a hero means offering a shoulder to cry on, a hear to listen and a heart to understand: three things that everyone can do.

In a world often characterized by excesses, it is important to recognize that heroism exists in each of us. It is the ability to see beyond the surface, to hear the unspoken words, and to feel the unexpressed emotions. So let’s erase the misconception that heroes are only characterized by their extraordinary features. Instead, let us remember that true heroism lives in the everyday actions we do to support one another. Let us try to be the heroes that this world needs.

When we think of the word “hero”, we think about a semi-divine or superhuman being, but heroes are not always like that. Heroes are people who make a difference in the world, making it become a better place. Everyone can become a hero. To become a hero, you must first have the mindset of one. Too often we focus on ourselves and on our own needs, without noticing what’s around us. Sometimes we do not realize how much someone needs a gesture to brighten their day, and that’s why being a hero is also about showing altruism and compassion to everyone.

Lastly, you have to be proud of your efforts and share what you are doing with your friends and family, in this way, more people will be inspired to be heroic. And remember, one person can make a difference, but a team can make a miracle.

Speaking of heroes, among the most iconic historical examples we certainly remember the figure of

Saint George.

Saint George was a legendary Christian martyr and military saint who lived during the 3rd century. He is

widely celebrated as the patron saint of England and is also the patron saint of soldiers, archers, cavalry,

chivalry, farmers, and field workers.

According to the legend, Saint George arrived in a kingdom plagued by a fierce dragon that terrorized

the people. The king of the kingdom had promised to sacrifice his daughter to the dragon if it did not

leave the kingdom alone. Saint George, upon hearing of the situation, decided to take action and slay the

dragon, saving the princess and the kingdom from its terror.

Heroes of our region and country

As a historical hero, we know Masaniello (Tommaso Aniello) 17th century Neapolitan revolutionary, he was leader of the popular revolt known as the “Masaniello Revolt” against Spanish rule in the Kingdom of Naples . The Masaniello Revolt, also known as the Neapolitan Revolt of 1647, was a popular uprising in the city of Naples, Italy. It was named after Tommaso Aniello, known as Masaniello, a fisherman who became one of the leaders of the revolt. The uprising began in July 1647 and was fueled by various grievances, including high taxes, economic hardship, and resentment towards the Spanish rulers of the Kingdom of Naples. The revolt initially started as a protest against a new tax on fruit, but it quickly escalated into a broader rebellion against Spanish rule.During the revolt, Masaniello and his followers seized control of government buildings, distributed food to the poor, and called for reforms. The uprising gained widespread support from the lower classes, including artisans, laborers, and the urban poor.However, the revolt eventually turned chaotic, with instances of violence, looting, and disorder. Masaniello's leadership also became increasingly erratic. The Spanish authorities, led by the Viceroy, responded with force, sending troops to quell the rebellion.Masaniello was eventually assassinated in late July 1647, possibly due to suspicions of treachery or manipulation by rival factions. His death marked the end of the revolt, although sporadic fighting continued for several weeks.The Masaniello Revolt had a significant impact on Naples and the wider region.

Heroes of the world

There are many heroes in the world, each with their own stories of courage, sacrifice and inspiration. For example we know Osak Schindler, During World War II, Schindler ran an enamelware factory in Krakow, Poland, which employed Jewish workers from the nearby ghetto. At first, he employed these workers for profit, taking advantage of the cheap labor provided by the forced labor policies of the Nazis. However, as he witnessed the brutal treatment and persecution of the Jewish population by the Nazis, Schindler became increasingly sympathetic to their plight. He used his factory as a way to protect his Jewish workers, ensuring they were not sent to concentration camps or killed.Schindler went to great lengths to protect and save as many Jews as possible. He spent his entire fortune bribing Nazi officials and providing food and protection for his workers. He even went so far as to create a list of over a thousand Jewish workers whom he claimed were essential to the war effort, thus saving them from deportation to Auschwitz.By the end of the war, Schindler had saved the lives of approximately 1,200 Jews. After the war, he was recognized as a righteous gentile by Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Martyrs’ and Heroes’ Remembrance Authority in Israel.

There are just a few examples, but there are countless people around the world who, with their courage and dedication, have inspired and continue to inspire others.
