Serving as Nextbook, Inc., executive director, Morton Landowne has guided the online publication of Tablet Magazine since 2010. Recognized as a leading Jewish cultural publication, the magazine has received three National Magazine Awards and has launched the podcasts “Vox Tablet,” “Unorthodox,” and “Israel Story.” Mr. Landowne also oversees the publication of the series Jewish Encounters in collaboration with Schocken Press and through a Penguin/Random House partnership. He maintains a strong community presence as former Lincoln Square Synagogue president and is still active on the Jewish congregation’s board. In the late 1990s, he also served as Edah president and oversaw activities that promoted Modern Orthodox Judaism. Mr. Landowne’s current leadership responsibilities include a position as American Friends of Ohr Torah Stone vice president, and he works in support of a network of Israeli schools. His board positions extend to American Friends of Beit Issie Shapiro, a nonprofit which supports disabled children across the globe.
