Regan before Rocky had this hatred for the Soviets, and from what it looked like nothing would change that. He wanted war and was angry. You can see this in the songs we listened to in class at the beginning of the term. Everyone was telling Regan ¨Ronnie¨, to not go to war (thank you Prince :)

America Before Rocky IV

In Rocky there are a lot of examples on how America felt about the Soviets. One quote that really stands out is when Ludmilla says, ¨You have this belief that this country is so very good and we are so very bad¨. Here Ludmilla is saying how America hates on the Soviets but for what reasons? We are human too. And that is when another important quote comes in. When Duke says, ¨You Cut him! You HURT him! You see. You see. He's not a Machine, He's a Man!¨. This quote also stands out a lot. During the fight between Rocky and Drago, Rocky cuts Drago and draws blood. Showing that the Russians aren´t machines, they are human. Just like everyone else.

At the end of the movie Rocky makes an amazing speech, ¨“If I Can Change…And You Can Change….Everybody Can Change.” This is where ROcky realizes something. During this fight everyone in Russia was cheering for only Drago in the beginning, this is because they are from his country adn supporting their country. But throughout the fight, the Russians views started to change and soon, everyone is cheering Rocky. Although Rocky was an American, these peoples views changed and everyone came together. Peace. Rocky IV taught people (especially Regan), what peace would look like.
