I was born in Brazil (which I still visit sometimes), but I've basically grown up in the US with my immediate family, but not just in Whitehall, PA. When I was younger I had a very wild imagination, when I grew up it turned into a skill to easily visualize things in my head. Due to these two things I decided to pursue a career in Video game Design, so I can bring my ideas to life!

As I mentioned above, I didn't always live in PA, I actually only have lived her for about 3 years now. I used to live in Ann Arbor, Michigan, home to University of Michigan. Although, I still feel new to the area, the lehigh valley has started to already feel like home.

When I'm not pursuing my education, I spend my time being a geek who enjoys various things, such as: Video games, Anime/Tv shows, Movies, Board games such as Dnd.

I also have two cats. Leia, the younger one that my sister uses as a emotional support animal, who also attend KU, and Brandy the older one, who's been with us since Michigan, and she hated the car ride to Whitehall.

I don't know any art related designers by head. However, I do have some favorite directors, such as: Alfred Hitchcock, Tarantino, Spike lee, etc. I also have some favorite video game companies that will get be to buy their games day one, such as: Bethesda, Valve, Digital Extremes, CD project red, etc.

My name is McKenna Hurd, but most people call me either "McK" or "Kenna." I am from Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania and I am a Studio Art major. Despite being just over a half an hour outside of Penn State University, I am a die-hard Pitt fan. My favorite color is yellow and my favorite food is Chipotle. I have an older brother ( 22 years old) who graduated from West Virginia University, and an older sister (20 years old) who is currently a junior at Shippensburg University. I also am a part time student at LCCC. My future is to do photography on the side, and hopefully become a manager of a retail store, either online or in person. I'm Mary, I'm from Chester County, and I'm tired. I transferred to Kutztown from Delaware County Community College
I love videos games and want to work in the industry, my current focus is concept design because I love composition and work building, but I want to dabble in everything. I'm traditionally trained and I'm making the transition to digital, but still incorporating a similar process. I like photograph, as a hobby and a tool.
My current favorite artist is Jen Bartel, she works in the comic industry.
Back home I have a Cocker Spaniel named Sammy, he's a sock bandit. Usually every Fall I got to Shenandoah with my family.

Hey guys, my name is Kiera. I'm from Nanticoke, Pennsylvania, you probably have never heard of it. It's about 15 minutes from Wilkes-Barre. I play softball for KU.
I am a sophomore majoring in Applied Digital arts, and I hope to one day be able to make my own video games. I'm pretty sure art skips a generation in my family because neither of my parents are artistically inclined, yet my grandparents were amazing artists. I have been working on my artwork for a very large portion of my life, and one thing I need to learn is how to be more creative. I've always tried to make art that resembles life, that's as close to a replica as possible. What I've learned from being is college is that you need to be creative to make art that sticks out, that gets noticed.
If I happen to have free time between softball and homework, I like to hang out with friends or find a nice spot to sit and draw something. one of my favorite places to go is New York. I love the city, the shops, the food - everything. My favorite artists are Jordan Casteel, and my old high school art teacher.

Hi my names Lauren. I'm from West Chester, PA. I am a transfer student from Delaware County Community College. I have an associates degree in Liberal Arts from there and this is my first semester here.
I love Video Games and I am working towards being a video game concept artist. Some of my favorite artists include Terese Neilson, Jen Bartel, Noah Bradley,Mark Tedin, and a lot of other big artists in the nerdom I subscribe to. I especially love Magic the Gathering art and the artists they commision are people who inspire me the most right now.
I also enjoy animals :). I have two dogs, a cat, a lizzard, two parakeets, and working on both a betta sorority at home and a new betta tank for a male.

Hey, my name is Erin! I'm from Brookhaven, Pa and I'm a senior here at Kutztown! I am a fine arts major concentrating in printmaking. Some of my favorite activities are hiking and horseback riding! I am a competitive horseback rider so I go to horse shows often! I've been to some really awesome places that I like to visit often which are off the Appalachian trail. Hi, my name is Wyatt. I'm from Myerstown, PA, it is in the Lebanon area. I'm a freshman and my major is Applied Digital Arts. I love hanging out with friends, video games, and art. I live right down the road from the Shankweiler Drive-in and enjoy going a couple of times throughout the summer. Hi everyone! My name is Tatiana and I'm a transfer student from Northampton Community College. I am an Applied Digital Arts major and I love to animate and draw. Some of my favorite artists are Hyanna Natsu and Nephrymdraws on Instagram, and I really love anime/chibi art styles. I also love soccer and played as a defender at the previous college I attended, and have been playing since I was a kid. I also game a bit and some of the games I play include Don't Starve Together, Rocket League, Kingdom Hearts, and Ori and the Blind Forest etc. I don't get to travel often, but I have been to Hawaii and California for my high school band trips which were totally awesome experiences. Sadly my dogs passed away a few years ago, (2 boxers Cinnamon and Bruno) but my boyfriend, whom I've been dating for 5 years now, has a Chihuahua named Chipita that I love like my own.

I hope to animate cartoons and anime series of my own or even work for Disney or Cartoon Network in the near future.

Really happy with how this turned out, I wanted to go with more colors but the gradient gives the illusion. These are my favorite colors and I love how the green looks like it's glowing out from the 'M'. I had fun with the stationary too.

For my movie I picked Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Sorry about the sloppy color, I didn't have my colored pencils so I used marker. I also made the bad move of doing it front and back, so it bled through a little like on the third one. I was also limited on my color options so some colors might not be the color I want to do later.

This time for my sketches, I did them more simple but with more notes, to consider for each one.
1) Is basing off the phrase of "time heals all wounds." one side of the hourglass is cracked to represent a state where things aren't great. However, the part of hour glass where time is trickling out to, is actually bursting out of activities some one can do when they are fulled healed.
2) The idea is, that through a surfer's POV, the surfer sees the sunrise (mandala) and the city in the horizon, as they exit the barrel wave.

These are some of my sketches! I’m hoping to build upon these more, I also used black paper to help bring out the vibrant colors.

1) For the first one I want to play on the concept of a compass with a path that guides you in leaving it open for the viewer to feel welcome. I included the moths since the represent vulnerability.

2) I did a traditional mandala with an hourglass with waterfalls that spills into the mountains!

The first one is a deer, I was thinking maybe working in orange trees to give a more fall and warm color feel.

The second one I liked having the mandala in the sunflower. I wanted to add some kind of design in the air to symbolize wind and movement.

Here are my two sketches.

I wanted to use warm colors because they are what make me happy, and I feel that they have the most healing affect.

The first is a girl standing in a field of sunflowers. The sun is a mandala flower, and I am planning on either have an overlay affect and having smaller mandalas inside the flowers or replace the petals completely. I also plan on doing a mandala overlay affect in the sky.

The second is the same girl sitting inside the sunflower. The mandalas being inside the flowers.

I changed the wave so it looks larger and smaller one certain ends. I also limited the color palette by changing the buildings to just three colors, and the gradients of the sky, and also made the Mandala one color. I could change some of the color in the wave also, but I feel it might lower it's quality. And lastly I added a Stained Glass filter over all of it to "give it a look." Let me know what y'all think!

Hey everyone. I adjusted the flowers and got rid of the black outlines and used a pastel brush to match the rest of the piece. I also added a few different types of sunflowers. However, I can't decide if I like the mandala over the horizon, or the full mandala in the center better. Please let me which one you guys like more.

turned out differently than I'd originally wanted. I'd prefer using after affects instead of photoshop, but for the sake of the assignment I stuck to the latter. photoshop loads it quite slower so it's hard to get the timing right

Here is my work in progress video. I plan on adding text, transitions, and some suspenseful music. I aiming for a mystery/comedy with somewhat of an The Office feel to the camera. I'm not exactly sure why every time the camera zooms in, it flashes green. The video only does that after it is exported and rendered, but never in the After Effects file. I tried exporting it multiple times but it keeps flashing green. Is there any way to fix that Professor?
