Prewriting is the gettting ready to write stage. In this stage you consider what the purpose of your writing is, you consider who your audience is and the genre of your writing.
I always struggled coming up with ideas in the prewriting stage if it was not explicitly provided. I have also noticed that
prewriting can be a challenging stage for students because it is when the writer comes up with ideas.

In this stage the writer is focused on getting their ideas on paper. There is no need to worry about punctation, spelling or grammar. Think about the leads that you will use to grab the attention of your reader.
Once I had my idea, I always enjoyed the drafting aspect because I could just write and not have to worry about any spelling or grammar errors.
This is such an important part of the writing process for students as well because it seems to be where there enjoyment for writing can stem from.

This stage is about clarifying and revising ideas. Share ideas with your revising groups and participate in constructive disucssions. Make the appropriate changes based off the comments of your teacher and classmates.
This was my least favorite part of the writing process because having someone read my work always made me uncomfortable, especailly if I was nearby.
This stage can be awkward for students if they are not comfortable with their peers or teachers reading their work in front of them, I think it is important to try to make this less uncomfortable for students so they are willing to give their peers honest feedback without worrying about hurting thier feelings.

Editing is putting your writing into its final form. The writer will polish their writing, making sure their spelling and grammar are correct and that they have eliminated all other errors. The goal in this stage is to make the paper readable by the selected audience.
The editing process was fine for me because it was almost the end of the process, I was however always worried because it was right before the publishing stage, which can be nerve wrecking.
Some students do not see this stage as important if they do not have many errors or changes that have been advised.

In this stage, you are sharing your work with the appropriate audience. This should be the motivation for the improvement of writing because you know your real audience will be reading your writing. This stage can be the best way for writers to be willing to edit and revise their writing.
For me, this part was always nerve wrecking because other people were reading my work.
For most students, this seems to be the most exciting part, they love having their work published, however that may be.
