The text “Life of Pi” by Yann Martel, and the film “Life of Pi” differ and are similar. For example, a similarity in the film and book is the way Pi stands up to the tiger, not only stands up but also like he said I’m the book, he uses the whistle to tame Richard Parker. Another example is the tarpaulin. In the text Pi talks about how the tiger is beneath him and in the movie the tiger is beneath him. A difference is that the excerpt doesn’t talk about the pervouis animals in the boat( except from the hyena).

The story and the film was very different from each other. For example, in the story it took Pi a long time to find the food and supplies but in the film he found it right away. Also in the story it said that Pi was hanging on to the oar but in the film he was hanging on to the boat in the storm. But the story and the film was the same too. For example, they had the same characters , the tiger, zebra, and the hyena.

Yes the movie does depart from the book as well as it does corelate with the book as well. One reason why Becuase there is less of a struggle going on while he was on the boat. Also they add Some characters like a monkey and a Zebra. Lastly the movie gives a littleS more background.Secondly the movie is faithful as well
becuase it does keep the characters the same and the main idea that Pi was trapped on the
boat with a tiger and they were abandoned all alone in the middle of the see.

The passage is simular with the movie and it is different. One difference from the movie and the book is the orangutan on the boat. A similarity of the movie and passage is the appearance of the tiger, Richard Parker, the hyena, and the zebra. The story takes it with Pi and Richard bonding at a small portion of the story. The passage does not start with the beginning of the movie, Pi being at the zoo and his first encounter with Richard Parker. Also the part of the sinking of the boat.

The film stays faithful and depart from the book by having the same and different characters, scenes and stories. But some parts of the movie dont match with the book. In addition, when he crashed at an abandoned sea that part wasnt in the book. But parts of the movie was similar to the book by having a tiger on the boat him being abandoned in the middle of the pacific. And when he was rescued by people he never lied to people About his story in the book but he did in the movie.

The film stays faithful to the text by including more than enough detail to support the text and the story. Both are alike because they are both in Pi perspective although the film had some extra details and the excert had some metaphors, the film portraited it perfectly even when its not as precise as the excert. For example “...hanging on to an oar,” In the film, Pi is holding on to an oar (the navigational oar) but he also is hanging on to lifeguard float. “It seemed that the presence of a tiger had saved me from a hyena...” In the film the presence of Richard Parker doesn’t save Pi, Richard Parker does, in the film Richard Parker jumps and eats the hyena before it could get to Pi. In conclusion the film stays faithful to the text by supporting the the text and creating the events even if they weren’t perfect.

During most of the movie many scenes stays faithful by showing how In different ways and scenarios based on how Pi survived but .For example,in the text it’s stated “I was alone and orphaned,in the middle of the Pacific hanging on to an oar ,an adult tiger in front me sharks beneath me,a storm raging about me “.During the movie, this exact scene was shown how Pi was on a boat with Richard Parker during the middle of the storm ,the only difference was he was not holding on to the oar most of the time during the storm,he was hanging on the boat.In the text it also states,”Now it was clear why the hyena had confined itself to such an absurdly small space behind the zebra and why it had waited so long before killing it “During this scene of the movie it’s showed how the hyena was acting very vicious because of the fact that he was hungry, therefore killing the zebra for food. This shows examples of the Movie and text, of “Life of Pi” and how they are faithful to one another.
kot

There are many similarities between the excerpt of the life of pi and the movie the life of pi. One similarity they both share is that they both show or say that he gained confidence to stand up against Richard Parker. In the movie he does this by use meat and a stick as a whip. Some difference that the book and movie have is when pi and Richard Parker wash up on a mysterious island. In the movie after a dangerous storm passed they washed up on a green isaland where the stems of the tree are edible.

The film “The Life of Pi” and the excerpt “The Life of Pi” by Yann Martel stay faithful by it’s similarities and they also depart by it’s differences. One similarity that the film and the excerpt both maintain is at the end of the story Pi survives and if it wasn’t for Richard Parker, it wouldn’t have survived. According to the excerpt, “I am grateful. It’s the plain truth: without Richard Parker, I wouldn’t be alive today to tell you my story.” This piece of evidence shows the similarity that they had in the film as well as the excerpt that Pi survives. Despite the fact that both of them stay faithful, they also depart because of their differences. In the excerpt they say that Pi was hanging on to a oar but in the film he wasn’t, he was on the boat. Pi also was on the boat with a hyena, zebra, monkey and a tiger. But in the text, they say that “Pi was on the boat with a tiger and a hyena”, they don’t say that he was also with a zebra as well as a monkey.

The story "Life Of Pi" was both similar and different in many ways. Yann Martel is the author of the story "Life Of Pi" in the story Martel did mention that Pi was orphaned in the middle of the Pacific ocean. But the story did not say how he was alone but in the movie the whole family was died because there was a storm and they drowned because they did not wake up. In the story it did not mention how Pi had a brother named Ravi. The story did not say that Pi was feeding the tiger. Pi's relationship grew strong with the tiger, at least thats what he thought. The story was different than the book

The movie departed from the book. Because in the film Pi was on a boat in the film but in the book Pi was hanging on to a oar. I can support my response because I’m the text it states that “hanging on to a oar”. This piece of evidence shows that the text says he is on a oar but on the boat there was no oar. Another part when the film departed from the book is when in the book it say Pi was not able to get the supplies because Richard Parker was there and at the time it would be dangerous. In the text it states that “But that meant creating an opening onto Richard Parker’s den”. This shows that Pi could not get supplies in the book but in the movie he had easy access to supplies. Yes the film has departed from the book many times.

Pi was on a boat when a storm occurred. Pi was then on a mini boat when 4 animals was present. Then 3 animals killed each other and it was left with a tiger.

The film and the excerpt are similar because they have the same characters. On the boat, the hyena, the zebra, and the orangatang, were all present in the film and the excerpt. The film was a bit different from the text because in the storyline, Ok finds the supplies in different places. In the excerpt, the supplies was in the side with the tiger but in the film, the supplies were on his side and were easily accessible.

Really there wasn't much difference between the film and the excerpt. The only difference was that small piece in the storyline. Everything else is completely the same

The film “ The Life of Pi” was departed from the text because in the movie it showed different scenes. For example, in the movie Pi didn’t have to go under Richard Parker’s den to get to the Supplies. Another example, was that in the story Pi end up in the island with the meerkats, which didn’t happen in the text (or the text make it that far). That is why the “The Life of Pi” movies was different from the text.
