  • Stevenson is a single high school district of 4000+ students. 
  • Core departments can have roughly 40+ teachers.
  • Department chairs are called directors who act as admin and do the vast majority of the management (some antagonism about not teaching). 
  • They also have Assistant Directors who are admin, but teach 1 class. 
  • Chain of command: 1 Principal -> 2 assistant principals -> Dept. Director / Assistant Director -> Core Lead -> Team Lead
  • Teachers comment they feel empowered by their directors to pursue PD and given guidance on them.
