I mean that by Stalin has a fierce grip over Soviet society. He's begun the great purge, killing many party members and various others, including some of Stalin's old allies. He's also genocided thousands of kulaks and has just been a big jerk. He's sending people who give even the slightest aggression towards the system to gulags, harsh worker camps in desolate areas where everything sucks. When his second wife learned of his devilish deeds, she could take it no longer and took her own life. Yikes. The gif represents how there is no limit to Stalin's cruelty.
