1.What is the impairment? Vision impairment occurs when an eye condition affects the visual system and its vision functions. Everyone, if they live long enough, will experience at least one eye condition in their lifetime that will require appropriate care.

2.What is assistive technology tool? Optical Character Recognition (OCR) Systems

Involves scanning a printed document into a computer and converting the picture image into text characters and words, which screen readers and braille embossers can recognize.

3.What is it used for? To recognize text inside images, such as scanned documents and photos. OCR technology is used to convert virtually any kind of image containing written text (typed, handwritten, or printed) into machine-readable text data.

4.Is it affordable or expensive? he price for the most popular PC-based OCR systems is about $1,000

5.Is it easy to use or complicated? It's easy, It provides a simple API for OCR that does not require training a model. It is built on top of PyTorch and TensorFlow and can detect text in over 80 languages out-of-the-box.

6.How can you use it in class?

1- Help Students Overcame Reading Challenges.

2- Revolutionise Note-taking.

3- Assist Visually Impaired Students.

4-Make the work of education easier.

5- Encourage students to study on the Go.

7.Who can implement/use it? Special educational needs, teaching assistants support teachers to help children with special educational needs and disabilities.

8.Which one would you prefer to use in the class? Why? I would prefer to use the Braille display which is an mid - tech assistive technology device that allows people who are blind or visually impaired to read digital content using Braille characters. Why? Because it provides direct access to information and it allows the user to check format, spacing, and spelling and is quiet.
