<title>Changes Can Be Good! by marissa stoffel</title>

<description>1st grade: Kids are always going through life changes, especially now. Not only are kids growing and learning so many new things a day, but they are also having to adapt to so many new life changes. Throughout covid there have been all these changes from school routines to regular family visits. I believe teaching 1st graders how to look at change could be a great help to them. They are so young and probably have so many questions and worries about what is happening in the world and how to handle it. </description>

<title>Students will brainstorm life changes that they have been through. Then they will write around each major change things such as, how it made them feel, when it happened, what was the outcomes, etc (creating a web for each change). Lastly they will create a combined class list of all their life changes.</title>

<title>Students will then be given a list of all the changes their classmates and themselves wrote about and put a plus or negative sign next to it. At the end we will count how many people put plus signs and how many people put negative signs next to each one. The whole class will talk about how there were mixed feelings on some of the life changes.</title>

<title>One student will get a liquid put on their hand, that can only be seen with a black light. By the end of the day we will see who and what all the liquid has been spread onto. Next students will be put into groups and talk about how this relates to covid and what changes they are making in their lives to help out with not spreading covid.</title>

<title>Students will be given two colors each and asked if they know how to make these colors change. If they say yes then they will be asked to show someone who said no. Afterwards we will discuss as a class how making changes to the colors allowed them to have more options and resulted in a positive outcome. </title>
