But he doesn't fully realize the pain and suffering he has been through because he is a Jew, and is in a concentration camp. This also symbolizes the rest of the world because they didn't know that 6 million Jews would pass in this event known as the Holocaust. Also, Bruno finds out, later on, that his father runs the camp and purposefully puts these people into torture and murders them randomly. In another quote, his father doesn't even refer to the prisoners as people. For me, the book reviews that are the best give a summary of the story and then go in-depth on it and who it's recommended for. This review definitely did that. It outlines a powerful story and I agree with everything the review says. I think he was a great member of the cast for the movie. He perfectly outlined who he played (Shmuel) and was great at showing his emotion and body. This is a book that will for sure open your eyes about the past, and learn about the Holocaust in a different way than you may think.
