An animal charity, called Redwings Horse Sanctuary, has asked the government to make fireworks quieter to help protect animals and people. Loud fireworks scare pets, wildlife and some people who find sudden noises upsetting. Supporters of the campaign say we can still celebrate Bonfire Night with low-noise fireworks or light shows that keep everyone safe and happy.

To open our worship as a class we listened to Love Shine a Light whilst focusing on the candle.

We then watched a video of candles relighting after being blown out.

The children discussed with their talk partners what they noticed.

Lottie - when they blew the candles out it lit itself

Embers - it's from a birthday cake, maybe the wind blows ashes and my name ember back onto it

Evie - it might be a trick candle

Charlotte - the candles when they get blown out they get relit, it's a magic trick

Andrew - they might not be blowing it hard enough

Tristan - when you blow them out the hotness is still there

We then blew out the class candle and the children observed what happened.

Andrew - Jesus came back to life and lit everyone's life back up

Harriet our Year 3 Worship Warrior lead this morning's class worship.

We were very lucky to have such a super worship warrior who lead such a special worship.

Charlotte opened our worship in prayer.

Tristan - running a marathon

We were blown away by his efforts and reasons. We discussed how special this must have been.

We then discussed Eileen Hieron who has also been running, completing 10 marathons and at 82 years of age, still continues to run.

These stories are pretty inspirational, and we then went on to discuss 'Is it ever too late to try something new?'

Andrew - no because it doesn't matter as long as you try your best

Lottie - you should always be able to do what you want to do

Millie - no because even at 82 that man ran the marathon

Jyothis - it makes me feel excited

Sanu - it makes me feel captivated because I want to try new things

Archie - it makes me feel a little confused because I haven't seen an old person run a marathon

Harley - a little sad because he might get hurt when running

Freddie - it makes me feel shocked that the old people can run a marathon

Kimani Maruge started primary school at the age of 84 as he wanted to learn how to read and write.
