When you first start of the book you start to realise that the society is very different from ours in the sense that they don't have choice and that they go along with it without question. Now it first shows up when they don't pick their own job or their partner but they don't care about it. Then later on Jonas starts to realise that the society has no choice and that no one realises it. Finally in one of the later paragraphs Jonas learns that his father along with other people/Nurturers kill people have to kill people like when they have identical twins or when they are at a certain age and not one of them has thought i am killing people, and maybe it is fine when it is old people since they have lived there life but when it is a new born child that's not ok. So what if they look the same they are babies and that is when you realise that the society has no choice and they don't think to them self. they are just rats in a maze who don't want anything in life. Those were the reasons why i think that the book the giver was so depending on blind obedience.
