1. To diagnose type 2 diabetes doctors first run blood tests to see if your blood pressure/sugar is higher than normal. Then they continue from that to conducting the Glycated hemoglobin (A1C) test, the oral glucose tolerance test and the fasting blood sugar test (Mayo). This allows them to see how your body reacts to the sugars and how much medication they will need to give you (dosages/type of medication).

1. Since the enzyme needed to break down the glucose is absent, it does not get broken down and builds up as fat. The body can no longer maintain a normal blood sugar level (Mayo) which can be dangerous if it were to get too high or too low.
2. There are many symptoms that can stem from Diabetes. A few of these are: weight loss, increased hunger, vision blurring/loss, nerve damage, and heavy fatigue. It can also lead to other diseases such as, heart disease and Alzheimer's (Mayo). More symptoms include: a loss of feeling in fingers and toes and being unable to soothe the increased appetite.

1. The sugars that you intake need to be broken down, by an enzyme, in order to be used. The disease is caused from a mutation that prevents that enzyme, insulin, from being produced (Demezko).
2. This disease is caused from a mutation passed down/inherited through your genes (Demezko). It can also be brought on and/or worsened due to a poor diet and a lack of exercise (Mayo).
