I would like to add the visual narrative using StoryMaps this year. Are they appropriate for primary grades? Are there any lesson plans for teachers to learn the platform and guide the youngest students how to create a simple StoryMap? If students already present and a local and/or regional SRS, can they also upload their work to the IVSS?

Dr. Evangeline: I am so thrilled ti see this work for students with visual challenges and it could perhaps also be engaging for other disabilities

I think the talking rain gauge will also be great for young learners who have yet to master reading the scale. It could be a double check on their observations. I wonder if other "talking" devices are in the works... would be great for things like soil temperature, potentially pH, etc.

How do you balance the students’ interests with aligning the selected research question with learning objectives? In other words, some students were interested in temperature changes, so the selected research question aligned with their interests. However, other students were-for example-interested in insects. Do you have any advice or tips on how to ensure all students feel support related to their unique interests?

Are there plans for implementing workshops where you/your students can teach/mentor other students in building these devices? That would certainly be helpful for STEM workforce development too. Win/Win situation :)

Matt - Many public libraries have maker spaces and could be one avenue for scaling up distribution when you're ready.
