The 2nd law of thermodynamics is when energy is lost in the form of heat.

Prediction: the cougars will go extinct and the coyote population will rise which means the deer poplulation will also decrease and the flower population will rise.
When the cougars go extinct there will be no predators in the food chain for the coyote ,So then there will be more coyotes to prey on the deer which will then decrease in population. There are no deers to help eat the flowers to keep the food chain stable so the flowers will increase . If the Coyote population decreases the bobcat, the racoon, and the deer population willl stay the same because the cougars prey on those animals also, but the cougar population will slightly decrease.

The roles of the animals in a food chain are very important because, the animals pass energy to predators in higher trophic level than they are. The animals really rely on each other to keep ones population stable. They rely on each other for food.
