Radar is a was people in wars best friend because it detects Missiles, other war ships/jets, submarine and more. It was like a life saver to many people out there. Radar specifically stands for RAdio Detecting And Ranging = RADAR. A radar sends out   electromagnetic waves similar to the same waves as mobile phones and network connection. The radar sends out pulses every couple seconds to scan throw the near by area to spot any units, once it spots something the waves reflect back to the radar to send a signal.
