The United States went from 13 states to 16 states, And because of the new states, a lot of settlers were migrating west across the Appalachian Mountains, slowly going into the northwest territories. And because of them moving farther and farther away from cities, most farmers had to make almost everything themselves like tools, and clothing.
And because there was no good way of transportation it was very hard and expensive to travel and trade goods
In the 1800 election for president, Thomas Jefferson won and cause of that a new party for politics came into place it was a whole new change, and cause of that
The United States faced its biggest political challenge yet.

The louisiana purchase (1803)

most of the area that Lewis and Clark explored was part of the Louisiana Purchase, The land was about 15 million dollars and they bought it from france, And with the land they expanded there territory of the United States from the Mississippi River to the distant Rocky Mountains. costing about 4 cents a acre

Louis & Clark expedition (began in 1804)

lewis and Clark were sent on a mission by Thomas Jefferson to explore western rivers for a route to the Pacific Ocean.
On their expedition, they discovered 178 new plants and 122 animals, and a big one was making allies with some of the native Americans. After the 2-year expedition, they returned home to report back on all their discoveries they made.
