One of my favorite activities from what we did last year was the historical fiction assignment and the creation story that went along with the mythology assignment. Something I would like to do this year that we haven't done yet is where everyone writes one line of a story and one at a time, someone adds on to that story, making it a group project.  Some things I enjoyed from last year was how many words Iearned to describe actions. Take walked for example! You can use the word saunter instead to tell that it was calm and casual.

I wasn't in this class last year, so I'm not sure how to exactly answer the final question. I've realized I get uncomfortable when in group work of writing pieces b/c I want a story to approach a certain way. I want to be able to write a draft of the prologue of a story I am writing that I am pleased with. I don't really like the tone that I give my character and hopefully this year I will be able to make a version that I think fits the vision I have of him. Last year I enjoyed the writing assignment where we took a Shakespeare sonnet and replaced the words with synonyms. It helped me expand my figurative language and helped me view words and their definitions in a broader way. This year I would like to work on more story writing and character building.
