         <title>Information Processing</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Information processing is defined as the way our brains are able to take in, store and use information <br><br>There are multiple steps in how information is process:<br><br><strong>Simplest/incomplete form:</strong><br>information processing (taking information in) =&gt; short term memory (holds information briefly) =&gt; long term memory (permanent storage)<br><strong><br></strong>One important thing to note is that long term retrieval is done by either: spreading activation (close association independent from concept) or reconstruction (using logic)<br><br><strong>Definitions:<br><br></strong><em>sensory memory</em>: our sense and how they're processed (occurs in a couple senses)<br><br><em>automaticity</em>: practice and performance create more or less an automatic response <br><br><em>cognitive load</em>: amount of information thats required for a task<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; 1. intrinsic-figuring out the information (unavoidable)<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; 2. extrinsic-solving issues in your surroundings&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
