Even though that might have been hard on Cory he still had a lot of strengths. For example when his dad kicked him out he worked hard and managed to be a good person, he was always determined too, whether it be in football helping his mom or sticking up for himself towards his dad. I don't think he had many weaknesses other than being kind of stubborn, because he didn't want to go to his fathers funeral, and his father was mean towards him

That is what Cory did. Even though his life didn't go the way he expected and he couldn't be a professional football player he went on with his life. Instead of giving up he decided to go into the Marines and he was able to to see the light and reach it. Walter betrayed his family by taking all of the money and Walters friend betrayed him by running away with Walters money. In the play when Bobo comes to tell Walter that Willy took all of the money Walter tells his mom "Mama... I never... went... to the bank at all..." and Mama responds with "you mean...your sisters schools money... you used that too... Walter?" These quotes support the theme of betrayal because it is showing that Walter was betrayed. even though Walter was betrayed he made the mistake of betraying his family. You can tell his mom was shocked because of the way the quotes were written out. In the play towards the end Rose says "well, I’m sure glad you made it. They let Lyons
come. Your Uncle Gabe’s still in the hospital.They don’t know if they gonna let him out or not. I just talked to them a little while ago." This is the quote I picked because It is showing a lot of new things happened. Cory was in the Marines and had just come back, Lyons stole so he had to in jail, and uncle Gabe had gone to a hospital. New beginnings aren't what we can always except to be great. Like in Fences Rose had to raise another child that wasn't hers and a bunch of new things happened and all of these new beginnings may not be good but, looking for the good things in situations like that is always the best way to make every new situation or any situation better. ]]> 2020-01-17 00:06:18 UTC https://padlet.com/skaraturk77/ws2azcmp691a/wish/432730886 Comparison skaraturk77 https://padlet.com/skaraturk77/ws2azcmp691a/wish/432733381 A Raisin in the Sun and Fences both have their similarities and differences between characters and themes but, both books did have the similarity of betrayal. In both plays they all went through betrayal. In A Raisin in the Sun Walter took his moms money and betrayed the family. In Fences Troy betrayed the family by having a kid with some other lady while he was married to Rose. Both of these comparisons are showing that the main guy character was always the one to do something wrong.
Even though they are similar they are the are also different. A raisin in the Sun was based and black family going through racism all because they were trying to get a new house in a white neighborhood. Fences is about A wife who gets betrayed by her husband because he goes and has a kid with another person and like that was not enough the wife he cheated on ends up having to take care of a child that is not hers. Also in Fences the dad doesn't lets his son Cory play in college football and the dad is overall a rude person and in A Raisin in the Sun the dad was oblivious.
