2. Word roller- gather a ball and alphabet flashcards. Have the students sit in a circle, flip over a flashcard and roll the ball to a student. As the student receives the ball, they must say a word that begins with that sound. Do it a few times with each letter before moving onto the next. 2. Missing word- Write a sentence on the whiteboard, leaving one word missing. Ask students, "what word is missing"? and give them a few minutes to think to themselves, pair up, and share. 2. Choral Reading- Give students each a copy of a short story, containing mostly CVC and sight words.
