The Rockefeller center commissioned this mural by Diego rivera. He represented the complexities of politics and economics, but his original sketch did not. His original sketch was accepted where he included groups of families, workers, and patriotic messages. The Rockefellers had no idea that he would change the mural and include new meanings to the work. The final artwork represented controversial topics relating to corruption, military, and politics. He also included machinery similar to his other works. Diego was fired and the painting was destroyed.

This painting depicts father hidalgo. The fresco represents the indigenous people and the message to fight back in the Mexican revlution. This fresco is enormous extending 13,000 feet and the perspective makes the viewers feel small. The work includes Miguel Hidalgo, a priest who motivated the Indian people to revolt in 1810. Although the revolt was unsuccessful it still stands as historical moment of revolt,

This is at the San Francisco Art Institute and is publicly available. This painting was about the making of the mural and was painted in 1931. We see Rivera include the working class and the San Francisco golden gate bridge. This represents the industrial worker and labor that goes in to keeping San Francisco alive at the time. This work is quite interesting because of perspective and the fact that he includes himself and his workers.

This is a large fresco that is located in a small library space. This space is surrounded by walls in a vault shape manner. The artwork makes viewers feel small compared to the work. The left side of the piece depicts chilean indigenous people and their struggles relating to freedom and independence. The north wall of the work represents indigenous Mexicans and colonialism. This painting is a bit warped and trip. We see the use of skin tones in this Allegoric painting.

In 1926 he returned to some of his previous work and explored the revolution. He depicts soldiers fighting in the Mexican revolution. Viewers see three faceless men fallen over. The vivid red background adds to the pain and intensity.

I have seen this piece for myself and fell in love with the vibrant colored used. We see a pond with bright colorful fish. This piece was in collaboration with Jason Gilmore. This piece is symbolic for food and opportunity for all. We see a group of fish being caught by fishermen. This painting seems to be oil paint on a wood surface.

This piece is called determination and was painted in east Oakland. This was a bright painting done on the interior of the East Oakland Community Project homeless shelter. We see symbols of love and positivity. This piece is very powerful since much of this community is exposed to crime and homelessness. The painting is pretty encouraging all around featuring positive words. The painting promotes that communities can still offer love and positivity in an area filled with poverty and crime.
