         <description><![CDATA[<p>The rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education brings both opportunities and challenges. As with any new technology, its impact can be both positive and negative. As a future teacher, I must learn to adapt to my students' needs, and AI can play a crucial role in supporting diverse learning styles. In this Padlet wall, we will explore the benefits and drawbacks of AI in the classroom. Key topics include automatic grading, plagiarism detection, and AI-assisted programs for math and writing. These tools can streamline teaching, provide personalized feedback, and help students improve their skills. However, they also raise ethical concerns—does AI enhance learning, or does it encourage dependency and even cheating? As AI technology advances, its role in education will continue to evolve. Should AI be integrated into classrooms, or does it undermine traditional learning? How will societal shifts influenced by AI shape education? These are critical questions that educators must consider. Conducting research and staying informed is essential for me as a future teacher. Understanding how to incorporate AI effectively while maintaining academic integrity will help me create an adaptive and engaging learning environment. The future of education is changing, and it is up to educators to ensure AI is used as a tool for growth rather than a shortcut.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>An article by the University of Massachusetts Amherst discusses how Gradescope, an automatic grading platform, enhances the efficiency of grading assignments and tests. This platform utilizes Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and answer grouping to evaluate responses and assign grades efficiently. While it significantly improves grading speed and consistency (University of Massachusetts Amherst, n.d.). , it still requires human input to define correct answers, particularly for open-ended questions. Gradescope offers advantages, including increased grading efficiency and improved grading quality due to its combination of AI automation and human oversight. However, the platform also has limitations. One notable drawback is that its rubric system can be restrictive, making it difficult for AI to accurately grade complex responses. In such cases, teachers must intervene to ensure fairness and accuracy Personally, I believe Gradescope will be a valuable tool in the future, but it is essential to remain vigilant. Since AI grading may not always be 100% accurate, I would need to review flagged responses to ensure fairness and </p><p>correctness in grading.</p><p><br/></p>]]></description>

         <title>Plagiarism Detection</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Plagiarism detection is increasingly important in education, as it helps assess the authenticity of a student’s work. However, the University of Kansas highlights the need for caution when using AI-powered plagiarism detection tools. While these tools can effectively identify potential instances of plagiarism, they also have a margin of error of approximately ±15% (University of Kansas, n.d.). This means that false positives and inaccuracies can occur, requiring educators to review flagged content carefully. One major issue is that AI plagiarism detectors sometimes misidentify headings, common phrases, or even a student’s own name as plagiarized content. These tools rely on machine learning and natural language processing to analyze sentence structures, but they are more effective for detecting plagiarism in opinion-based or open-ended writing than in research papers, where citations and common phrases often trigger false positives. Additionally, these tools are primarily designed for long-form texts, limiting their usefulness for shorter assignments (University of Kansas, n.d.). Due to my own negative experiences with AI plagiarism detectors, I feel this may be my least favorite AI tool as a future teacher. It can be unfair to students when inaccuracies occur, and educators must ensure that accusations of plagiarism are made with proper verification rather than relying solely on AI-generated results. One key advantage of ChatGPT is its ability to demonstrate problem-solving techniques clearly. However, a notable drawback is that students must explicitly specify the method they want to use. Since many math problems can be solved in multiple ways, the AI may generate a solution that differs from the one taught in class or one that the student finds difficult to follow. Another concern is the issue of academic integrity. While AI tools can help students verify their answers and enhance their understanding, some may misuse them to complete assignments without actually learning the material. This raises ethical concerns about fairness in education. As a future teacher, I believe it is reasonable for students to use AI to check their work, but they must do so responsibly to ensure they are genuinely engaging with the learning process.</p>]]></description>

However, the integration of AI into education raises several ethical concerns. Privacy issues are paramount, as some AI platforms collect personal data to tailor their guidance, which can be misused or sold to third parties without consent. Additionally, fears about AI leading to job displacement are prevalent. Yet, in the educational sector, AI is more likely to serve as a supportive tool, enhancing the efficiency of teachers and students, thereby expanding opportunities rather than diminishing them. The societal apprehension towards AI often stems from mistrust in those who develop and implement these technologies, rather than the technology itself. My opinion on AI has remained the same—I continue to see it as a valuable tool for both students and teachers.
