My name is Oliver Cromwell, i emerged as a military leader and Puritan General during the English Civil War, forging the New Model Army to victory. My success led to me being crowned Lord Protector, a role I held until my death in 1658, guiding the nation through a period of profound change. Indeed, I fundamentally changed the government of England by abolishing the monarchy and establishing the Commonwealth, striving to build a more righteous nation.

My name is Charles II, that usurper Cromwell exiled me to France, seeing me as a constant threat to his ill gotten throne as my father’s son. But upon his death, I gloriously returned to England, restoring the Monarchy in what became known as the Restoration. Yet, even a King’s return brought its own trials, as I faced my fair share of problems, including a resurgence of the Black Plague and the devastating Great Fire of London in 1666.

My name is king James II, the Roman Catholic brother of Charles II, and by his lack of legitimate heirs, I became the last Catholic King of England, Ireland, and Scotland. My devout faith, however, proved a constant challenge in a predominantly Protestant nation, leading to immense religious strife and discontent. Ultimately, these tensions culminated in the Glorious Revolution, where I was peacefully overthrown, inadvertently solidifying the Constitutional Monarchy and laying the foundation for the English Bill of Rights.

My name is Mary, daughter of King James II, though unlike my father, I was raised a staunch Protestant and married my first cousin, William of Orange, a Protestant Dutch Prince. When Parliament completed the overthrow of my father, they called upon William and me to rule jointly, seeking a Protestant alternative for the throne. Our reign thus began the Constitutional Monarchy in England, as we agreed to govern in accordance with Parliament’s laws, famously passing the English Bill of Rights in 1689, which officially limited the monarchy’s power.
