If they choose to dig deeper into the subject, they lose their confidence about what they know. It reminds me of news sources delivering information that might not be accurate, but the readers see the initial info and feel that they know EVERYTHING about it.

We now prefer "one-liners" to gain a sense of complex social/economic/political issues.  When he offers solutions by "detaching", I can't help but note how prescriptive it seems, and still speaks to the shallowness of the audience he is targeting. If consumers do not know how to question the effectiveness of their behaviors, even if they follow his prescription of "walking in the woods" or "reading a novel", I fear this same person will take a picture of their action and make sure to post on their favorite social media site. The only way to change this is for a genuine self awareness that needs to be taught everywhere, like at school, places of spiritual growth and most importantly, in the family.
