The floorboards 
are creaky
the drain pipes 
are leaky
It's lonely and dark here
and nobody visits. 
The braziers are empty
since nobody lights them
and the paintings are crooked
because nobody rights them.
The hatches are rusted
the trapdoors are closed
the windows are dirty and
no garden grows
here in this abandoned heart of mine. 
but deep down, I miss it, 
I wish I could find 
someone new to come live here
to right all the paintings 
to light all the stoves
and tend to the orchard
and the tulips and cloves
they could live there 
and be there
just when I need them
and when things go wrong 
I could go there and see them-- 
and they could help patch the holes in my soul
and maybe, with them,
I could one day be whole.

I hear its somber echo

as if a mocking melody:

Then there are wilting flowers around the heart on the left but as the eye trails to the right the flowers begin to bloom. Which leads to the second canvas.
