I chose the book Gym Candy by Carl Deuker. Mick is a young football player obsessed to be the best and he resorts to steroids to be better. This gets him into a lot of trouble because of this and has some shocking encounters. I liked this book a lot because it was very emotional and very interesting. I recommend people to read this book.

The text I chose was "Michael Jordan's The Life," by Roland Lazenby. It is a biography following the life and coming of Michael Jordan. It is explained on court moments and off-the-court moments. I liked the novel because it explained Jordan's days as a child all the way to the pros and really described how his life was. I really recommend this book to my other classmates.

This story is a tragic love story where the two main characters, Romeo and Juliet, fall in love, but they are supposed to be sworn enemies. I liked this book because it was very interesting and was easier to understand than many other shakespearean texts. I would recommend this book to other students.

I chose the book The Summer I Turned Pretty. It is about a girl named Isabel who goes on a summer vacation every year to a beach house with another family that they are close with. The family she goes with has two boys, Jeremiah and Conrad. She is best friends with Jeremiah and falls in love with Conrad. I think this book because I could relate to being the same age as the girl. I really liked this book and I felt like I could read the whole book without getting bored. I would recommend this book.

I chose the novel Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. This is about two star crossed lovers from feuding families. Their love for each other results in both of their deaths after they can't bear to be separated from each other. I liked this book because it was very dramatic but it could be hard to understand sometimes. I would definitely request this story to my classmates.

The book I chose was Dear Martin by Nic Stone. Justyce is a young african-american boy who goes to a private school and is very smart, but he has to deal with racial profiling not only in school but also in public. Justyce is falsely arrested and he believes his race has to do with it, and after that he starts writing letters to Martin Luther King Jr about his problems with racism but it keeps getting worse between racist students and him and his friend getting shot by a racist police officer for playing music too loud. I liked this book because it dealt with important themes and told a strong story. I would recommend this book to my other classmates.

The book I chose was "American Sniper," by Chris Kyle. It is an autobiography about the navy SEAL who has the most confirmed kills ever. The book is about how he became what he was and the training and hardships along the way. He was stationed in Iraq for four years after 9/11 and had to be a distant husband and father while still protecting his country. I liked the book because it shows how hard being a SEAL is and the things they need to deal with while stationed. I recommend this book.
