It stretches from the Nile river in Egypt tot he Tigris and Euphrates river in modern Iraq. It also encompasses several other countries, including Israel, Lebanon, Jordan and Syria. The Fertile Crescent is important because it prompted the development of the first civilizations due to its agricultural capabilities.</div>]]></description>

Hunters and gatherers have been long thought to be more peaceful by nature than than their agrarian counterparts, but it has been proven that 88% of modern hunter-gatherer societies interviewed participate in warfare. Based on evidence found in bone-structure, cannibalism was commonly practiced, due to lack of food.   </div>]]></description>
