  • PM Rishi Sunak announced the election for Thursday 4th July.

  • The election will determine who will be MPs in Parliament as well as who the next PM will be.

  • Leaders of key political parties have begun to make their pledges for what they would do if elected. A break down of these will be coming in future posts.

  • At the start of the week, famous right-winged politician Nigel Farage became Leader of the Reform Party and decided to stand as an MP.

  • On Tuesday Rishi Sunak and his main opponent - Keir Starmer - went head to head in a debate on ITV, there was no clear winner.
