The correlation depicted shows that countries with higher life expectancy are likely to have lower infant mortality rates, and vice versa. This trend can be seen with all of the countries that are selected. Take Japan for instance, when it comes to overall life expectancy, Japan has one of the highest at 85.03 years. Meanwhile, their infant mortality rate is incredibly low, with about 1.82 deaths per 1000. Now when looking at the stark opposite, the trend can still be observed in a country like Benin, their life expectancy is very low, about 62.84 years. However, their infant mortality rate is also very high, reaching 56.54 deaths per 1000 infants.
