There is a monument dedicated to Pizzaro sitting in La Plaza Mayor in Trujillo which has been sitting there since 1927. This monument was built and donated by an American sculptor named Charles Cary Rumsey from New York, United States. This statue is still used as a large monument in the plaza and as a marker used to help me find my house during the first week living in Trujillo.
