He had spent the previous year at a US charter school and the year before that in a local school (where classes were taught in the local language). His oral English was strong but written English was weak and his mathematics was acceptable. There were gaps in his educational record. His only aim was to become a businessman. He greatly disliked desk time in the classroom. He worked well in groups but liked to be involved in the hands-on elements of any project. Rasul has excellent connections to the local community and speaks both local languages. He has also started his own AirBnB business in the city, but it required a considerable amount of time on the weekends with records keeping, cleaning and so on. He really had no idea what to do going forward. His English was strong and he spoke Hindi and one other language. An example of his eclectic approach to life was that his Personal Project was creating a 10- minute short film comparing Indian and local architecture. His university aims were myriad. Her Personal Project was handcrafting a series of creams from organic sources in an effort to create her own line of skin care products. When asked what her dreams were for a career, she explained that she wanted to be an executive with one of the large cosmetic lines like Estee Lauder. Her plan was to study in university in Korea.
