         <title>Chapter 12 - Youth Identities and Culture</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>This post relates to Chapter 12 – Youth Identities and Culture.&nbsp;</p><p>Youths, most of the time, do not have a strong sense of
identity. They want to belong and accepted by others; that is why so many of
them give in to peer pressure, be it sex, drugs or gang activities. Peer
pressure plays a major role in how youth respond to their environment and
choose their identities. Some youth go very far just to get accepted by their
peers for example, as seen in ragging that takes place in sororities and
fraternities. Similarly, youth can sometimes react in tragic ways if they are
not accepted by their peers for example, committing suicide due to bullying. The following picture shows how youth and adolescents going to public schools can give in to drugs due to peer pressure as they see the 'cool kids' doing drugs and they want to do the same.</p>]]></description>
