The main character of the story is Rashad and one thing he loves to do is art. He started to do art when his dad read this newspaper and gave it to him. In the newspaper it had a cartoon of a white family that lived a simple, easy, and perfect life called the Circus Family. So he got inspired to make his own cartoon of his family and started to draw more and more. Also he mostly drew when he was in a tuff situation or just when he wanted to draw.

A kid named Rashad went to Jerry’s liquor store to get some chips. When he went he was digging in his backpack for the money and then a woman behind Rashad fell on him. The owner of the store thought that the kid was stealing and he told the police officer that was outside the liquor store. And the police thought that Rashad did something to the woman but he didn't. And the police started to arrest the kid and beat him up. And Rashad couldn't explain himself.

Once everybody in Rashad school knew what happened to him and everyone that saw in the news what happened to him. They got mad and upset due to this situation. So the kids in the school started to talk about protesting. And it happened and they were just walking by the liquor store and the police station. Also they have stopped to talk about all the black people that have died or have been treated poorly due to the same situation that has also happened to Rashad.
