This day was spent learning about the basics of professional photography

Such as certain techniques , how to work with makeup artist , marketing , editing all of the things that are necessary to be a successful professional photographer , in the freelance world, but it was also a conversation as to why I do photography , what I love about it , what it means to me.

This day was all about getting my own flow and photography techniques down pact. I spent some time figuring how my settings work in certain situations. Really about finding out the things I work with best and how I practice a nice repetitive flow.

Lighting, Today was spent looking at how lighting can really make or break a photo. Too dark and things go bad, too light and things are also bad. It’s about finding that perfect balance between the two. Even white balance can mess things up. If you use a flash but you don’t set up the white balance to turn that reddish-orange from a flash into a white then the photo will be bad. But that can also be a style for some. I personally don't like it

Today I did work on marketing and how to get your product/business out to different people.

The major takeaways from this are social media work and being consistent, but also very engaging. Post videos of your photoshoots and the outcomes, do funny reels (My mom does some for her own business) The more engaging the post the more likely people will look at your profile and want to hire you for whatever their needs are. Another crucial aspect of this was having a website, I made one with Wix, It allows me to show my skill in the field, but shows I'm not limited to a specific style or limited to 1 thing.

Editing can Help fix any issues with lighting, or even customize the photo to your liking! I really feel like it gives you free rein to do whatever you want. , but it can really be slight touch-ups to make a huge difference, maybe removing something from the background, picking apart a photo layer by layer, color by color. Etc, editing gives you a huge amount of tools to work with. This was more of learning the basics, but a lot putting more knowledge on top of what I knew how to do already. Lightroom is what I usually used, but today I learned to use capture one which is a very useful photo editing program. If you take 1 photo and apply some edits to it, you can then take more photos that apply that very same style to it making the job easier which churns out a very high-efficiency rate 

This was really spent trying to book a photoshoot for myself, which I did!  A shoot for prom, well not prom but the young man wanted photos in his suit so I’ll be doing a shoot with him once the weather finally clears up, the weather for our Scheduled date was cold and rainy, so we rescheduled for the next weekend. Which gave me some practice in communication with the customer in case something goes wrong, or if something has to be re-scheduled.

This is where the real journey begins, I go off on my own and try to capture beautiful images of either people or the things that surround me! , I also Re-visited some old photos I took to see if I can edit them better than how I did when I first started. I noticed I made a lot of photos really grainy which I felt was a cool style, but when you look at it long enough it's really REALLY bad.
