When you think about the toll that it has on the parents or family. The school shooting was probably the story that hurt me the most. Just think about if your child went there. If you were at work and you see on the news or you get a phone call... you would drive to the school at 150 mph to realize your child isn't there.]]> 2018-11-06 18:31:22 UTC https://padlet.com/karsten11/wqppz4hn9t4k/wish/301152378 zoubair https://padlet.com/karsten11/wqppz4hn9t4k/wish/301152389 The most tragic story I've heard of yet, was when I've heard the story of a girl who's been neglected and her father kept her in a chair, not able to move from it or ever go outside, and I believe she's been abused this way for about 16-18 years of her life, unable to go outisde, learn to speak, being fed once a day, and, and never feeling the love that a child should feel from her parent(s); sadly this happened after the mother divorced with the father before all of this occurred, so she had no idea that her daughter was being treated so horribly... until (if I recall correctly) a few neighbors of theirs called the police for I believe they either found out from her dad (on accident I believe) that he was keeping his daughter hidden and keeping her in the house to never come out, or they heard that a child was in their house even though the father never once mentioned having a child... When I was about 7 my Dad told me how the news put on this big event to advertise down soap. They took this little (I think it was a seal) that had been covered in oil from a big oil spill. They cleaned it all up but right as they put it back in the water a shark eat it. Both died leaving behind four children, some my age. I began to think about it and how they must feel. I started to think how I would feel if it had been my parents. My friend were friends with them and it was and still is hard for her. It’s definitely a hard thing to talk about, with everyone’s different opinions about guns. I find it very depressing to watch it, I know some people think it's good to be aware of what's going on but it really disturbs me. He had been dragged out of his car by a cop and was tased for several seconds. The entire time the boy followed the mans direction and was still denied the rights he should have had. I don't remember the exact statistics, but it is said that animal agriculture is the leading cause of deforestation and world hunger (among other issues). it's said that 45% of the US's land is used for animal agriculture. The acres of land used to grow food for beef leads to deforestation, and the grains etc used as food for the animals could be given to places where people are starving. The most shocking part about this is that no environmental organization wants to speak about this. If animal agriculture is the leading cause of things like deforestation, greenhouse gas production, and world hunger, why aren't powerful organizations such as greenpeace talking about it?
