         <description><![CDATA[<div>Summary: Japan's choice to industrialize was fueled by a need for defensive capabilities. Japan has a very ancient and rich culture, and seeing the changes brought with industrialization, were hesitant to adopt it, fearing destroying aspects of their culture. But Industrialization techniques from the west took over.<br><br>Effect: Japan became a power in the new world and stopped western powers from destroying their traditions and culture.&nbsp;<br>Exporting rice, tea, oil, and coal. Traveling within Japan grew far easier and quicker thanks to transportation advancements. Military and Government were directly related.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Summary: Africa saw a population increase and rapid urbanization, the Zulu kingdom after about 80 years was absorbed into South Africa. British, French, Portuguese, Spanish, German, and Dutch colonies if Africa made up most of the land. This lead to the Xhosa Cattle-Killing movement and the Yaa Asantewaa War and Samory Toure's battles in West Africa.<br><br>Effects: Most women in Africa earned suffrage rights in the 1850's, high production of ivory, palm oil, copper, gold, diamonds and rubber on the west coast. Manufacturing took place inside peoples homes.<br><br>Inventions: Surgical techniques, antiseptics, barkcloth bandages.</div>]]></description>

Many immigrated to America for economic opportunities.<br><br>Effects: Europe imported in more products than any other region, countries gave women suffrage rights within 6-30 years since the revolution.
